Hello :)

A Bit About Me

I am an art educator based out of Los Angeles, California.

I enjoy telling stories with different mediums in my art pieces. Telling my stories through art is how I can invite others into my world and a way to connect to them.  Sharing my view of the world with others is as important as discovering it for myself.

Resume & Cover Letter

Growing up in a traditional Chinese family, I felt pressured to model my dreams and aspirations to follow stereotypical occupations typically within the medical field. However, I knew these careers were not my true passion. Since a young age, I would spend time creating and designing artwork, all the while constantly making excuses to avoid my homework and lessons.

For most of my education and life at home, I felt that the limited curriculum forced me to fit into the simplistic generalizations and stereotyping of my education and my home culture. The expectations from my teachers and family became overwhelming and started to make me reject art as a viable career. That is until I met my high school art teacher who transformed my perspectives on art and reignited my passion. Because of this memorable event, I hope to one day provide the same experience for my future students.

As an aspiring teacher, artist, and lifelong learner, I want to bring students together and help them discover their passions in life. By providing them opportunities to discover their own interests and fostering a positive community and space that promotes meaningful learning experiences with a focus on enjoyment and personal development.
